AN ASTONISHING WINE!
For the "Moon Wines", the grapes are harvested in the cool of dawn. Jean-Luc Baldès wanted to reproduce a wine of this name made in the 17th century, when peasant farmers used to pick the grapes during the night so as to purloin part of the local lord's harvest and thus also have to pay him less in taxes.
Tasting advice:
- An aperitif wine (smoked ham, Gascon pork), or with white meats in a cream sauce or even with fish.
Location:
At Floressas, in the Triguedina vineyards west of Cahors, in the heart of the Appellation region.
Soil:
Clay-and-limestone. North-Easterly exposure..
Grape Varieties:
50 % Chardonnay; 50 % Viognier. Single Guyot pruning. . 5,000 plants per hectare.
In the vineyard:
Traditional growing methods; soil ploughed; supervised control; severe pruning; removal of unwanted new shoots; thinning out of the grape bunches and of the leaves.

Harvest:
Grapes hand-picked in the freshness of early morning or in the late evening by moonlight.
Vinification:
Matured in cask for six months.
Comments:
- Colour: Gold, bright and limpid.
- Nose: Complex and floral, with candied fruits and mineral.notes.
- In the mouth: Full, powerful, well balanced.
- Laying down: Will keep for 5-6 years.
